First of all, most importantly, the food was very, very good. However, even though we were the only table dining in on a rainy Monday night, the service was painfully slow. Then, the server misheard my order and brought us the wrong pizza. (Maybe having a Mac Daddy pizza and a Mac-N-Cheese pizza right next to each other on the menu was not a good idea?) They brought us out the right pizza very quickly after that (which begs the question why it took so long to get the order out the first time) and the server and owner were both super nice. I feel bad about complaining about what appears to a promising new restaurant, and I would likely give it another try because the food was excellent.

Looks like a brand new store, very comfortable, with huge benches for seating. The pizza crust here reminded me of my favorite place back home and for that reason I think that this is the place to go in New Glarus for pizza. They have that kind of crust that is crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside, and it's a little bit sweet. They have outdoor seating and would be a great place for larger groups, and of course there is New Glarus beer to be had.

This is probably my favorite pizza place! Lots of interesting options like baked potato, mac and cheese, five alarm/spicy, and many others. Great outdoor seating along the bike trail and a couple of fire tables. Kid friendly menu with good choices.

Sugar River Pizza is such a wonderful place in so many ways. Delicious food, wonderful service, amazing location on a bike path. We live in Verona and prefer driving here vs downtown Madison. Gorgeous drive, creative menu. Also, they are wonderful with kids and brought lots of coloring pages, papers, etc. Did I mention the outdoor patio, covered porch, and great music? My 7 year old daughter says "it's set up very nicely, food is good, good kid stuff, they have a nice outdoor deck, it's a beautiful place, and the service is good." Check this place out!

This pizza restaurant boasts a team of family and close friends who run the business with enthusiasm. The food is great and true to the menu. Although the menu prefers no special requests or substitutions, I've had servers make exceptions that they may overhear our family discuss. The service is normally quick and friendly. Weekends and football Sundays tend to be a busy time; expect some slight delays. The food is always cooked and presented well. The drink section, especially the beer list is impressive. With over 80+ beers to choose from, you'll likely find something to quench your thirst. With such a wide drink selection, it is helpful to have the beer scores listed right on the menu, and if you ask the owner he can point you in the right direction. The indoor seating is generous with pent of space for bigger groups at a single booth. The outdoor seating is placed right off a local trail with bike parking and plenty of covered or open seating.

The food is really good. The outdoor seating is lovely. The service is not great. No greeting when we arrived. Had to ask for menus. Had to ask for the bill twice, by tracking down our server in the restaurant. Took us 45 minutes to get one pizza. Never got a drink refill the whole time we were there. There were plenty of servers and it wasn't busy. Tried it once when they first opened in New Glarus and again a year later. No improvement.

We came here after receiving a coupon from New Glarus Brewery. This is actually a good place to come to if you're hungry after hanging out at the Brewery. The Buffalo Chicken pizza we ordered was very good. They also have a variety of beers to pick from. The service was also very good. The atmosphere is very pleasant and relaxing. I would come back here the next time I visit the brewery. I really dig the rocking chair they have by the register. I took a pick and did my best Bray Wyatt impression!

This place continually gets better. More craft beer selections, now boasting 80+, from all over the Upper Midwest, Canada and Belgium. Over there's always great pizza, but even better appetizer choices. Great meal, great beer, great place to hang out.

A welcome addition as another solid dining option in New Glarus. The renovation of an old railroad building is nicely done with a wonderful outdoor patio and a couple of fire tables with chairs. It's right behind the Chateau Landhaus and along the Sugar River bicycle trail. We ate here a couple of times on our recent visit to New Glarus and we were both very impressed. The greek salad was excellent, the pizza very good and the sandwiches flavorful. Although there is no beer on tap, they have around 80 bottles of craft and imported beer so you can easily chose something that you like.

The pizza is really good. They care about providing good food and service. The price is right for what you get. Don't try the pastas because they will get you hooked. Then where will you be...... Selling your stuff to buy a serving of Alfredo that's where. Really nothing about these guys that I could complain about. Grateful to live near one.

Dined at Sugar River Pizza tonight and had 2 delicious pies and a tasty lasagna. Pizza had a hand-tossed crust with just the right amount of density to hold up the generous helping of locally sourced cheese and toppings. Sausage was just right - well spiced and very lean. My friend had the lasagna and she said it was great - al dente pasta with a savory tomato/sausage sauce and plenty of cheese. AMAZING craft and import beer selection with the obvious local brews like New Glarus but also many bottles from Belgium and Germany. Seriously the best pizza in town!

Definitely a solid pizza place. The have about 10+ unique pizzas and a create your own option on top of pasta, sandwiches, and salad. One has the option to dine inside or outside and they have those awesome tables outside with fire-pits built in! That would probably be awesome at night. The have a large beer list (80+ beers), not tap, but hey quite the list all the same. They were out of the particular beer I ordered so I was given a free beer of similar quality/taste! Awesome. The prices for the beer were very reasonable with most being at the $5-$7 mark - no way you are getting those prices elsewhere! We ordered a 16" large with spinach and banana peppers - thin crust. It did not disappoint. The red sauce was perfect and actually had flavor - something a lot of pizza places lack these days! The toppings were plentiful and there was more than enough gooey cheese to go around. The service was very quick and friendly! The little girl dining at a table near us had a birthday and was served a fried dough concoction with ice cream, chocolate sauce, and whipped cream. It took a lot of self-control to prevent "wandering fork syndrome." Overall a solid spot and a great destination for groups just returning or going to New Glarus for some brews.

Great craft beer selection. Patio area is fantastic and feels upscale in a smaller town. We had the bbq chicken pizza and wings. Both were very good. Owner obviously loves to talk about craft beers, make recommendations, and share new beers with patrons

Bread sticks...check. Pizza...check. Salad...check. Grilled sandwich...check. Super crazy beer list including new Glarus...check. All good to really good. A must stop if you're in the area and have kids. That dough is to die for. Service is a little off but otherwise good.

My friend/co-worker and I spent the weekend in New Glarus, bicycle camping at the New Glarus Woods Park. After riding down from Madison, setting-up camp, and realizing it had gotten later than we planned, pizza sounded like a good option. + Arrived around 7:30pm; no wait for seating + Server was ok, but not overly helpful/personable/attentive* + Outdoor patio seems like a cool place; we sat inside, which was clean and comfortable + Lots of huge booths and a few small tables + Nice selection of reasonably priced pizzas + Hand-tossed, sausage/mushroom/onion was pretty solid. Sauce was a bit sweet, and crust was obviously brushed with butter. Couldn't tell if this was house-made crust or not; I'd have to give it a second look. + Reasonably priced - sodas and a medium pizza came in at under $20 * I think our server was a bit frazzled from the day/night's events? She didn't provide menus when we sat down, came back after a few minutes with waters and then asked if we'd like to order. We told her about the menus; she grabbed menus and then said, "So, would you like to order or should I come back?" We asked for a few minutes. She came back to take the order, and then only appeared once more (with our check). Someone else dropped off the pizza for us. Just seemed odd/off. Not a bad place - definitely 3+ stars. Compared to some of the more infamous Madison places; however, and it's barely A-OK. I'd return if I were in the area.

Please visit this place if you are in the mood for pizza. As a Chicagoan who loves pizza I wish this place was in my neighborhood! Chicken parm pizza and mac and cheese pizzas were amazing. Staff was very friendly and from the looks of it they have a great outdoor seating area (we visited in winter) Would come back in a heartbeat!

While walking around charming downtown New Glarus we came across SRP's cute super modern outside fire tables, and we knew we had to check it out! We were greeted by the owner and his wife immediately. They were very patient as we waited for our friends and chatted with us while we relaxed on the patio. We got the capresee flatbread, nachos and Mac and cheese bites as appetizers. All were quite good, the Mac and cheesy bites even had done heat! I got the tropical pizza with hand tossed crus, it was really cheesy and great! Taco pizza was awesome and comes with a toppings basket so you can customize with lettuce, tortilla chips and sour cream. BBQ chicken pizza and buffalo chicken were birth good, but had quite a bit of heat. The chef seemed to have a heavy hand with the jalapeños so be sure to ask about spicey-ness if you are sensitive to it!! Will definitely go back when I'm in town!

Bad service, Ordered a Taco pizza (half w/o beef) and were told it wasn't possible because the sauce would 'run'! Service was extremely slow, Waitress was not warm and welcoming. The food was average. Good beer menu.

Our group of 24 were given a table upstairs and treated royally! Many different beers, pizzas, salads & appetizers all came quickly AND correctly. Our server was top-notch... she was even cool about separate check requests :) Although proud Chicagoans, when in New Glarus and in the mood for delicious pizza, we'll definitely come back to Sugar River :)
